SAFETY FIRST AT WEST MOUNTAIN
West Mountain is committed to the safety of our community and guests. To reduce interpersonal contact and congregation among people who are not members of the same household/family unit, West Mountain has established a Site Safety Plan, which includes a density reduction component, incorporating this guidance and all applicable Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and DOH COVID-19 guidance.
The plan includes:
- Appropriate site-specific physical distancing and cleaning criteria and other best practices consistent with this guidance.
- Adequate staffing guidelines to reinforce social distancing and proper hygiene and deter crowding, group activities (e.g. long lift lines) and large gatherings.
- Public outreach campaign to reinforce capacity limitations, social distancing, and sanitization protocols.
- Except for members of the same household/family unit, ensure 6 ft. distance between individuals, including employees and members of the public.
- Except for members of the same household/family unit, any time individuals are less than 6 ft. apart from one another, they must wear acceptable face coverings.
West Mountain is implementing plans to maintain a cleaning and disinfecting strategy to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19. West Mountain employees will practice social distancing and prevention hygiene, such as frequently washing hands and wearing face coverings in enclosed spaces and areas of close encounters. Additionally, West Mountain will be encouraging guests to pre-plan visits by purchasing tickets online in advance to the Aerial Treetop Adventure and Mountaintop Picnic Packages. Advance purchases help us to control our environment and limit the number of people in various spaces throughout our facilities. Additionally, staggered arrival times will mitigate congregating at ticket counters. West Mountain will also provide markers to indicate queuing areas as well as picnic areas. The parking lot will also include cone blocks to limit the number of vehicles allowed in the parking lots. Queuing barriers will also be enacted to create safe zones for buying tickets at the ticket counter as well as for food and beverage zones. Although most of our activities are outdoors, those facilities that are indoor (e.g. changing areas, equipment sheds, locker rooms, restrooms) will be reduced to no more than 50% of the maximum occupancy unless it is designed for a single occupant or additional personal protective measures are implemented (e.g. face coverings at all times).
Everyone also has a role in making sure our communities are as safe as possible to reopen and remain open. West Mountain encourages all guests to maintain 6 ft. distance and avoid multiple crews and/or teams working in one area.
