West Mountain School (501 C 3)
West Mountain School (WMS), West Mountain’s 501(c) (3), Federal Tax ID # 75-3173928, plays a multifaceted roll engaging in fundraising and promotion of ski racing at West Mountain, providing many of the supporting elements such as safety and technical equipment, financial scholarships, and fostering a sense of community and volunteer service. WMS believes a child who participates in athletics is more likely to be happy and healthy while becoming well-rounded and acquiring many skills and disciplines that will allow her/him to realize their goals and dreams throughout their lifetime.
West Mountain School raises funds through grants, sponsorships and fundraising events including:
WMS Golf Tournament (September 29, 2019/10am start at Queensbury Country Club
$90/golfer (includes green fees and cart, refreshments, raffle, silent auction, and a buffet following the tourney)
$100/hole sponsorship (includes signage at the hole, live mention during the event and logo placement on all of the promotional materials the day of the event)

WMS Ski & Sports Gear Swap (November 8-10, 2019)
Drop off in Main Lodge Friday, November 8 from 4-7pm
Sale in Main Lodge on Saturday, November 9 from 9am-5pm
Sale/Pickup in Main Lodge from 9am-noon (all items that are not picked on Sunday will be considered a donation to WMS)

West Mountain School, offers need-based scholarship opportunities to athletes interested in ski racing or continuing to ski race at West Mountain with West Mountain Racing. The scholarship application deadline is Oct. 1st, and the application is below. WMS is very happy to report it awarded over $10,000 in scholarships in 2018/2019, up from $6,800 in 2017/2018!
WMS received $20,000 in grant funding in 2018 from the Kelly Brush Foundation ($7,000), the Killington World Cup Committee ($5,000), and the Town of Queensbury ($8,000) to purchase safety equipment and supplies for the WMR race program at West Mountain (breakdown shown above). WMS and WMR greatly appreciate the support of these organizations.
