Learn to Ski and Ride at West Mountain. West offers 6-Week programs to children and adults of all abilities. Our passionate instructors lead by West Mountain's Snowsports On-hill Director Mike Dorman are trained and ready to help everyone be better skiers and riders. West’s Ski & Ride School is a certified member school of the Professional Ski Instructors of America.

Registration discount cut-off dates for 2023/2024 are: 4/15, 10/15, 11/15, last day to register is 12/15.
Additional Details:
- Students will be grouped by age and ability, skiers/snowboarders of all levels will have 6 weeks (not including MLK Weekend and February Break) working to develop new skills and make new friends.
- Program pass (lift pass valid all day on the days of the programs) will be given out on the first day of programming.
- Programs do not run during holiday periods. For more information on lesson programming during holiday periods, visit our holiday lesson camps here.
- Add rentals from West Mountain Sports to any of the programs during registration.
- Please arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to lesson start time to allow for ample time to be fitted into equipment and to prepare for the lesson.
- On inclement weather days, instructors will take necessary breaks with the students.

This 6-week Mountain Explorers' program is for skiers & snowboarders ages 4-6 years old. Participants are grouped by age & ability and must be 4 years old by Jan. 1. The program runs for 6 weeks (excluding MLK weekend & February break) and includes a lesson and an all-day lift pass valid on the days of the program so participants can practice their skills.
If you are a parent interested in skiing or riding during your registered child's weekend lesson time, please select the Adult Lift Only Ski Club option.

This 6-week Mountain Adventures program is for skiers and snowboarders ages 7-17. Participants are grouped by similar age and ability. These lesson programs are a great introduction or way to enhance and improve existing ski/snowboard skills. The program runs for 6 weeks (excluding MLK weekend & February break) and includes a lesson and an all-day lift pass valid on the days of the program so participants can practice their skills.
If you are a parent interested in skiing or riding during your registered child's weekend lesson time, please select the Adult Lift Only Ski Club option.

Specially designed 6-week program to help you keep up with your kids & friends. Whether you are a skier or snowboarder, beginner or advanced, our experienced team of instructors will teach you the necessary steps you’ll need to improve your skills & technique. The program runs for 6 weeks (excluding MLK weekend & February break) and includes a lesson and an all-day lift pass valid on the days of the program so participants can practice their skills.
If you or your child/spouse are interested in skiing or riding during the registered participants weekend lesson time, please select the Adult or Youth Lift Only Ski Club option at check out.

23-24 MASTERCLASS SERIES FOR ADULTS (AGES 25+)*| REGISTER NOW

This 6-week Masterclass Series program is for intermediate to advanced skiers ages 25 and older and meets Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 am. The program will have a dedicated focus each week to strengthen participant skiing skills. The program also includes an all-day ticket valid on the day of the program. The day will start with breakfast in the main lodge and then the group will hit the slopes for an hour and a half training session from 10 to 11:30. After, enjoy the slopes on your own with friends for the rest of the afternoon as the program includes an all-day lift pass valid on the days of the program.

23-24 LADIES LIFT, LESSONS & LUNCH (AGE 18+)*|REGISTER NOW

This 6-Week Ladies Lift, Lessons and Lunch program combines sun, snow, and serenity make for a winning combination on Friday’s. Avoid the crowds and escape your hectic schedule. These 1.5 hour group lessons begin at 11am with other skiers or snowboarders of similar ability. Whether you’re in a group or alone take a break at 12:30pm for lunch in the Main Lodge. The program also includes an all-day lift pass valid on the days of the program.

23-24 SKI INSTRUCTOR/SKI PATROLLER IN TRAINING(AGE 13+)*|REGISTER NOW

Are you interested in joining our Snow Sports or Ski Patrol Team at West Mountain? This 6-Week Instructor and Ski Patroller in training program is the perfect opportunity to get started.
This 6-Week Instructor/Ski Patroller in training program is offered to new skiers and snowboarders ages 13+ who are interested in teaching or patrolling at West Mountain. Over the Course of the 6 weeks (Excluding MLK weekend and February Break) participants will learn how to be a confident instructor or patroller. This 3-hr program runs for 6 weeks (excluding MLK weekend & February break) and includes an all-day lift pass valid on the days of the program.
At the end of the Instructor in training program those interested in instructing will receive the following to signify their achievements.
- Full Privilege Season Pass
- PSIA-AASI Junior instructor card for the 2023-2024 season that will allow you to begin teaching at West Mountain once they turn 14 years old.
- A certificate of completion.
- A PSIA-AASI Junior instructor Pin.
- Details on how to become a PSIA-AASI Member and pursue a professional pathway in West Mountain Snowsports.
At the end of the Patroller in training program, those interested in being a patrol candidate will receive the following to signify their achievements:
- Full Privilege Season Pass
- Move to Ski Patrol Candidate Classification and be paid or volunteer once they turn 14 years old.
- Details on how to become an Alpine Patroller and pursue a professional pathway in the West Mountain Ski Patrol.

23-24 West Mountain Racing's Intro to Race Program (ages 6-13) |REGISTER NOW
23-24 Registration opens March 1. Registration discount cut-off dates for 2023/2024 are: 4/1, 9/1, 10/1, and 11/1.
The WMR Intro to Racing 6-Week Program is a fun, non-competitive, non-travel development program for ALL MOUNTAIN SKIERS (ages 6-13) who are interested in becoming a WMR ski racer. All participants must be able to ski all terrain also be able to ride the lift alone. The program begins Saturday, January 6, 2024 and meets on Tuesdays from 6-8 pm and Saturdays from 9am-2pm and runs for 6 consecutive weeks. Race coaches will help your child develop the proper fundamental movements, skills and race tactics, and will introduce the students to gate training in a fun learning environment. Children cannot register for this program for more than one season without previous authorization. Please contact Program Director Sara Montgomery at sara@westmountain.com if your child or children have already been in the program and are ready to join the WMR Club Program.
The Intro to Racing Program includes:
A 6- week program pass that is valid Tuesdays and Saturdays on program days. The program does not include lunch on Saturdays. If your child has a WM full privilege season pass, registrants receive $25 off by using the Code WESTSEASONPASS

A $200 late fee is applied to all Intro to Race registrations after Nov. 1.
Registration for all West Mountain programs close on December 15th and Nov. 1 for the WMR Intro to Race program, or when the program is full. Registration requests after December 15th are subject to a $15 late registration fee and are dependent on availability.
Please note: We do not issue refunds for program fees unless a medical condition occurs before January 1st, 2024.
If a child can't ski due to medical reasons, a letter from a doctor is required for verification.
Prices may be subject to tax
West Mountain products cannot be resold, transferred or refunded.
*Beginning in 22-23, all new program purchasers will be charged an RFID card fee. There will be an additional replacement fee if the card is lost, stolen etc. Program participants will need their RFID card to access the lift.
